Nicholas Jaar - Space Is Only Noise. Like so many others out there, this album topped the list for me in 2011, and the title track is my fave cut - electronic awesomeness.
Aj Hernz - Snap Back Swag (Crizzly Remix). Crizzly’s rework is bootyshaking crunkstep awesomeness. Set volume to stun.
Hunt in the garden of false opportunity
I am the bug in this global community
Ravage your conscience with total impunity
I am the bug in this global community
Seek and provoke degradation and lunacy
I am the bug in this global community
Go tell your new God to beware of my heresy

Not Many Cities. Kiwi rapper Scribe and his remake of Not Many, his double platinum record, recast as a tribute to Christchurch. I was down in Christchurch at the start of last month, and the scale of the damage was still unbelievable, even though it’s now a year since the first earthquake. Great tune, great video.
Mogwai - How To Be A Werewolf. Great tune, great video. The video was shot in Norway and is an excerpt from the upcoming documentary 30 Century Man directed by Antony Crook. Crook is also responsible for the cover art of Mogwai’s latest album Hardcore Will Never Die… But You Will. The documentary centres on James Bowthorpe, the round-the-world champion cyclist who beat the previous record by an epic 20 days. I like.
Massive Attack - Atlas Air. Directed by Edouard Salier. Superb. (via slamxhype).
UNKLE - The Answer. Did I ever mention that I am a huge UNKLE fan? Check out their latest video directed by John Hillcoat (The Road) and featuring Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast). Yes, James Lavelle, you never fail to deliver. A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
Kanye West - Power. Got pointed to this one today, complete with huuuuuge necklace on Kanye. Excellent.
Cassette Portraits. Erika Iris Simmons, a 26-year old self-taught artist, got into cassette-tape portraiture after noting how the coiled, stringy reels of old cassettes resembled Jimi Hendrix’ hair. Since then she has added similar likenesses of Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, and other icons to her portfolio. Cool. (via @glennztees)
And the drawbridge is down
I will walk it
Not even dare to look down
Just sway all resistance, melt
Lower all walls and make it well
You can’t be content with now
Your world is all mistaken and you’re not s’posed to act
Against yourself
